Matthew J. Brightbill is a musical theatre performer from Cleveland, OH. After getting his B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from Ohio Northern University, Matthew has performed regionally in Minnesota, Florida, Texas, Georgia, and Illinois and has enjoyed getting to experience different parts of the country!

Matthew fell in love with music when his dad started recording a yearly Christmas song for his mom with him and his twin brother singing on it. Their first song was “Here Comes Santa Claus,” when Matthew was only 4 years old… and he ate it up! His dad also played piano in a band and started teaching him how to play at 6 years old.

When he started school, Matthew took every opportunity he could to pursue music/performing/art. This led Matthew to doing his first musical, The Wizard of Oz, in the eighth grade (which was the first and only year his school ever put on a musical). He landed the role of the Scarecrow and was over the moon. As soon he got a taste of being onstage, everything seemed to click and he knew it was something he had to do for the rest of his life!

Beyond theatre, Matthew works as a social media manager and executive assistant for Fitting in Fitness. He has a love of fun Crocs filled with jibbitz and owns several pairs.

Matthew’s other hobbies include playing Mario games on his Switch. He is most competitive when it comes to any iteration of Mario Party. He enjoys watching Drag Race and listening to podcasts about it, finding his way to a beach (as nothing is better for Matthew than sunshine and the ocean), discovering new music and staying active at the gym!
